The following is the text of a statement supplied to the Republican Socialist Publicity Bureau:
"The leadership of the Irish National Liberation Army wish to state categorically that our cease-fire declared on the 22nd of August 1998 covers all military actions both north and south of the border. Therefore any claims of threats from the INLA to State witnesses in the inquest of INLA Volunteer John Morris should be treated with the contempt that they deserve. "We take this opportunity to reiterate that no witnesses in the inquest are under threat from the INLA, therefore there is no need for witnesses to give evidence incommunicado. "Justice demands that all evidence heard in the inquest is seen to be open and of equal value." |
