The Pan-African Student/Youth Movement would like to congratulate the Irish Republican Socialist Party, and your respected outlets, the Irish National Liberation Army and the Irish Republican Socialist Prisoners of War, on this your 24th Anniversary. As you come together to celebrate another year in struggle for freedom and independence, which is 829 years strong, we stand in solidarity with you. We know that you will prevail to victory as you continue to fight for the removal of British troops >from your soil and to wage the final death blow to the Military Industrial Intelligence Police Complex (MIIPC) and ultimately, Capitalism.
The sisters and brothers of Africa are no strangers to the MIIPC. While you fight against troops on Irish soil, we fight against formations like the Joint Combined Exchange Training Program (JCET), which is a program sponsored by the Pentagon to intensify the U.S. military presence in Africa. The U.S. and its Imperialist allies know that the consciousness of our people have risen to the point where we are now speaking out against the preponderance of military dictatorships in Africa. For example, resistance movements around the world are responsible for the downfall of such Puppet regimes as the Samuel Doe Government in Liberia, the Ibrahim Babangida and Sunie Abacha Governments of Nigeria, and the Mohamed Said Barre Government in Somalia, which were all U.S. financed. While we focus on the military governments in power, we also must recognize those formations that are not in power, but are just as ruthless, such as UNITA in Angola and RENAMO in Mozambique. These too are U.S. financed. Of course, there are many U.S. supported military outfits that still exist such as Daniel Moi of Kenya, Hosni Mubarak in Egypt, and Lasanta Conte in Guinea. However, the U.S. seeks to orchestrate a facelift in Africa by replacing these military puppets with civilian puppets, while at the same time, maintaining the same Neo-colonial policy, much in the tradition of the ultimate Neo-Colonialist, Houphouët-Boigny of the Rassemblement Démocratique Africain (RDA). With the popular uprisings against military dictatorships on the rise around the world, U.S. led imperialists are taking advantage of our genuine resistance by imposing their banner of multi-party democracy on the continent of Africa. This is another way the U.S. led Imperialism is attempting to go from military Neo-Colonial rule to civilian Neo-Colonial rule. Consequently, they label ruthless, U.S. finance regimes led by Daniel Moi in Kenya and Lasanta Conte in Guinea as one-party states; therefore, imposing the un-dialectical view of Mother Africa for their shameless objectives. It is because of this that we appreciate and congratulate you for building and maintaining a Revolutionary One-Party State, in the tradition of other One-Party States like the Conventional People's Party in Ghana, the Democratic Party in Guinea, the African Independence Party of Guiné and Cape Verde, The People's Democratic Party of North Korea, the Communist Party of Cuba and the Revolutionary Party of North Vietnam. When we see how U.S. led Imperialism attempts to manipulate everything all of the time, we salute you for your decision to organize your genuine cease-fire, which is fundamentally different than the British-led Good Friday cease-fire initiated earlier this year. The Good Friday Cease Fire is nothing but a cheap diplomatic ploy by British settler-Colonialism. We see that Imperialism seeks to impose their cease fires on all oppressed people who engage in some part of armed struggle against British and Imperialist allies throughout the world, i.e., Zionism in Israel, El Salvador, Angola, Congo, Rwanda. Through your Cease Fire, you have provided another example of how armed struggle is a tactic, not principle. We in the African Revolution still struggle in many of our quarters attempting to express the same sentiment. The African Revolution historically has two forms of expression: Positive Action (i.e., sit-ins, demonstrations, strikes, protests) and Armed Struggle. As you know, the two most genuine Revolutions in Africa, (Guinea and Ghana), where gained through Positive Action. We also have seen how Libya has used this tactic to gain its independence as well. We, also, learned from the errors of people like our beloved brother Dr. Martin L. King, Jr., Southern Christian Leadership Conference, who made non-violence a principle; and also Huey P. Netwon, Black Panther Party, who said that the gun was the extension of the Black Man's privates. But we see that Malcolm X came to clear this position up with "Any Means Necessary!" Therefore, in this same spirit, the tactic you choose to liberate Ireland, and eventually Europe, makes no difference to us. We wish you success and our support for your noble cause. If it is through positive action, we hope the streets of Northern Ireland are posted with your banners, posters, protesters and marches. If it be through armed struggle, we hope that every bullet, bomb, sling shot or bottle hit their designated target, ensuring that victory is yours and only yours. As students and youth, we can never ignore the support and solidarity the Irish People have always shown Africa. We will never forget your work with the Universal Negro Improvement Association under the Honorable Marcus M. Garvey, your consistent support of the Democratic Party of Guinea under Ahmed Sekou Toure, your work with the All-African People's Revolutionary Party and our recently fallen brother and comrade Kwame Toure, and of course, your unwavering and continued support for PASYM and its objectives. Once again, PASYM salutes the Irish Republican Socialist Committees, and your respected outlets, the Irish National Liberation Army and the Irish Republican Socialist Prisoners of War, on this your 24th Anniversary, for your tireless fight for Irish sovereignty and independence under a Socialist government. We stand in Revolutionary solidarity with you today as we fight collectively for the International Socialist Revolution. ONE UNIFIED AFRICAN PEOPLE! ONE UNIFIED SOCIALIST AFRICA!
